A Dictionary of All Religions and Religious Denominations/Herodians

HERODIANS, those Jews who adhered to Herod and the Roman government, and in many instances symbolized with the heathen, in opposition to the patriotic party, which adhered closely to the Mosaic law, and groaned under this foreign yoke. They were chiefly Sadducees, and persons of licentious manners.[1] See Mark viii. 15.
