AN ACT

Ralative to Extra Session; cf the General Assembly, and defining the duties of the Governor in reference thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That whenever an extraordinary occasion occurs, which, in the opinion of tho Governor of the State, makes it his duty to convene the General Assembly at the seat of government, at a different place, in accordance with the authority vested in him by article sixty-four of the constitution, he shall specify, in his proclamation convening the General Assembly in extra session, the particular object or objects for which the General Assembly is convened, and such business shall take precedence of all other that may be brought before the General Assembly at such extra session.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, etc., That the proclamation containing the call for said extra session, shall indicate the length of time for which the session shall continue and said time shall not be extended save by a joint resolution passed by the Senate and House of Representatives, approved by the Governor, and in no event shall the session continue longer than sixty day.

SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, etc., That this act shall take effect from and after its passage.
