LOWELL, Percival, b. in Boston, 13 March, 1855. He was educated at the Latin school, Boston, and Harvard university, and is known as a writer, traveller, and astronomical investigator. The following is a list of his works: “Chosön: The Land of the Morning Calm” (Boston, 1886); “The Soul of the Far East” (1888); “Noto: An Unexplored Corner of Japan” (1891); “The Eve of the French Revolution” (1892); and “Occult Japan, or the Way of the Gods” (1895).
