61ST CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES

An Act
To enable the people of New Mexico to form a constitution and state government and be admitted into the Union on an equal footing with the original states; and to enable the people of Arizona to form a constitution and state government and be admitted into the Union on an equal footing with the original states.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States in Congress assembled, That the qualified electors of the Territory of New Mexico are hereby authorized to vote for and choose delegates to form a constitutional convention for said territory for the purpose of framing a constitution for the proposed State of New Mexico.
