Executive Order 718

It is hereby ordered that a small marshy island commonly known as East Timbalier Island, formerly a part of the military reservation abandoned for military purposes by Executive order of September 23, 1886, located in the Gulf of Mexico, State of Louisiana, approximately in latitude 29° 3′ north, longitude 90° 18′ west from Greenwich, as shown upon the United States Coast Survey Chart No. 197, and located within the area segregated by the broken line shown upon the diagram hereto attached and made a part of this order, is hereby reserved and set apart for the use of the Department of Agriculture as a preserve and breeding ground for native birds. This reserve to be known as the East Timbalier Island Reservation.
