Islamic Dynasties. Ummayids of Spain. Abu'l-Walid Hisham II al-Mu'ayyad billah (en:Hisham II of Córdoba). First reign, 976-1009.

AV Dinar (23mm, 3.18 g). al-Andalus (Cordoba) mint. Dated AH 396 (1006/7 AD).

Kalima in three lines across field; symbol above; "Muhammad" below; "Bismillah struck was this dinar in al-Andalus in the year three hundred and ninety and six" around

"The Imam Hisham/amir el-muminin/al-Mu'ayyad billah" across field in three lines; symbol above; "Amr" below; Quran 9:33 around.
