108 STAT. 2828 PUBLIC LAW 103-337—OCT. 5, 1994 Subtitle B—Professional Military Education SEC. 911. AUTHORITY FOR MARINE CORPS UNIVERSITY TO AWARD THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF MILITARY STUDIES. (a) AUTHORITY TO AWARD.— (1) Chapter 609 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section: "§ 7102. Marine Corps University: master of military studies "(a) AUTHORITY.—Upon the recommendation of the Director and faculty of the Command and Staff College of the Marine Corps University, the President of the Marine Corps University may confer the degree of master of military studies upon graduates of the college who fulfill the requirements for the degree. "(b) REGULATIONS.— The authority provided by subsection (a) shall be exercised under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Navy.". (2) The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by adding at the end the following new item: "7102. Marine Corps University: master of military studies.". 10 USC 7102 (b) EFFECTIVE DATE. —The authority provided by section 7102(a) "°*^®- of title 10, United States Code, as added by subsection (a), shall become effective on the date on which the Secretary of Education determines that the requirements established by the Command and Staff College of the Marine Corps University for the degree of master of military studies are in accordance with generally applicable requirements for a degree of master of arts. Establishment. SEC. 912. BOARD OF ADVISORS FOR MARINE CORPS UNIVERSITY. note. The Secretary of the Navy shall establish a board of advisors for the Marine Corps University. The Secretary shall ensure that the board is established so as to meet all requirements of the appropriate regional accrediting association. SEC. 913. AUTHORITY FOR AIR UNIVERSITY TO AWARD THE DEGREE OF MASTER OF AIRPOWER ART AND SCIENCE. (a) AUTHORITY TO AWARD.— (1) Chapter 901 of title 10, United States Code, is amended by adding at the end the following new section: "§9317. Air University: master of airpower art and science "(a) AUTHORITY.—Upon the recommendation of the faculty of the School of Advanced Airpower Studies of the Air University, the Commander of the university may confer the degree of master of airpower art and science upon graduates of the school who fulfill the requirements for the degree. "(b) REGULATIONS.—The authority provided by subsection (a) shall be exercised under regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Air Force.". (2) The table of sections at the beginning of such chapter is amended by adding at the end the following new item: "9317. Air University: master of airpower art and science.". 10 USC 9317 (b) EFFECTIVE DATE. —The authority provided by section 9317(a) "°^®- of title 10, United States Code, as added by subsection (a), shall
