"There's the nigger serenader and the others of his race." I haven't heard it with the N word before, which is not unusual in this world of liberal censorship used liberally. As I look it up, apparently the reference is to black-faced caucasian banjo players, and as such the lyric has often been changed to "banjo serenader," which is the only version I'm familiar with. In any case, maybe there should be a footnote at the bottom giving the most popular (read: singularly popular) "alternative." --71.30.158.3 13:50, 11 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
