Note on Field Notes: The Field Notes project is an experiment to use wikisource as a platform for both providing access to, and a means to transcribe, natural history field notebooks. It is our great good fortune that both scans and transcriptions of Henderson's notebooks were already easily available. The big challenge is how to _annotate_ notebooks so that others can locate people, place, and animals that populate Henderson's rich accounts of the West of the United States from 1905-1936.
