Advancing proofreading status edit
Gday. With pages such as Page:Suggestions on the Arrangement and Characteristics of Parish Churches.djvu/15, we would encourage you to advance the proofreading status to Proofread (amber) if you are comfortable that the text replicates the text from the image. This allows the next person to advance the text to Validated (green). On that page, you can go back and do so now if you wish, as I marked them as proofread. - As general feedback, the work that you are preparing is looking really good. From a quick look, there is nothing glaringly out of place, and from some of the pages that I proofed, it looks fine. :-) If we were looking to present it for feature status, then we may wish to clean up some of the images, and have a fiddle with the formatting, overall though, not an issue. — billinghurst sDrewth 07:02, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you, billinghurst, for your kind feedback. As this is my very first Wikisource project, I was not yet aware that I could advance the texts I have typed in myself to amber but I will do so in the future. You are right that the images are a problem. Unfortunately, this was just scanned from microfiche, not from the original book which is very rare. A particular problem are the drawings by Patrick Hanlon where the scan delivered for the darker parts very few different tone values, making it very hard to make the windows and other features visible. In three cases I adopted the tone curve such that it is very steep in the critical area which helped a bit but at the end they still look poor. They would need to be rescanned from an original in one of the few libraries that have it (e.g. British Library, National Library of Ireland, Trinity College Dublin). The floor plans, however, could be remade as plain SVGs. Would this be ok at Wikisource? Thanks again for your help and kind regards, AFBorchert (talk) 08:10, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

I am not the image expert, and tidying and preparing such is one thing that can try my patience. I've added it to {{new texts}} as suggested and I have tried some minor improvements on the figures but I agree that we need to rescan the figures from an original source. - Hi Ezarate, this ticket is in Spanish but I am not a Spanish speaker and hence I cannot process it.
