Arthur Sullivan edit

Hi, Adam,

I deleted the page Arthur Sullivan because it was merely a redirect to a page in a different namespace, which is a reason for deletion here at WS. Typically, all pages here at WS link to the author in the "Author:" namespace, and redirects between the main namespace (like Arthur Sullivan) and the "Author:" (like Author:Arthur Sullivan) are discouraged and usually deleted on sight.—Zhaladshar (Talk) 19:09, 11 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

The Lily of Laguna edit

Just wondering if you'd cast a beady eye over the page and let me know what you think. Thanks! Jude (talk) 08:45, 21 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I had a search for a recording but was unable to find anything. I've cleaned up the images and I'll upload them to commons: not very sure about converting them to a PDF, but I'll have a look around and see what I can find. Jude (talk) 07:26, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I attempted to use w:Lilypond (with w:Denemo) earlier, but unfortunately I'm unable to read music so I couldn't work it out. :-) I guess I'm just not the musical type. However, I think it would be nice to have Lilypond source scores... lots of programs seem capable of reading them, using them to generate music, etc. Quite useful, I guess. Well, it's most difficult for me because a) I can't read music, and b) I don't have any experience wit the Denemo interface.I'll give it another go over the weekend and see where it gets me. :) Jude (talk) 07:13, 23 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

books about music edit

Hi, I have added four transcription projects to Wikisource:Music, and the few other related works we already had. Music Notation and Terminology looks like a good one for people wanting to learn, esp. as Project Gutenberg also have it, and A guide to the manuscripts and printed books illustrating the progress of musical notation (British Museum, 1885) is one I am hoping you will find some value in as it looks like a great "todo" list. --John Vandenberg (chat) 19:17, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Do any of these PD works by w:Theodore Baker look of special interest to you?

What about "music notation", or there are 3000 under "music". John Vandenberg (chat) 19:33, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

pages containing sheet music edit

In a similar vein to {{Page contains image}}, I have created {{Page contains sheet music}} to make note of book pages that contain sheet music. I havent thought about what should happen with them after that - my main concern is to transcribe the text, and keep a note when other components of the page will need to be added before we can say we have completed the book.

Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Page_contains_sheet_music

So far it mostly contains Czech music that we are finding in one work, but we'll start to fill it with pages from other works as we go along. John Vandenberg (chat) 12:45, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Lord Creator from this day edit

Hi, thanks for helping with the re work of Eternal Father Strong to save over on Wikiversity...

I do however need you to get back in touch with this, for licensing reasons, and the fact that I'd like to get it recorded at some point :) ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 21:22, 1 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Hunting of the FT edit

Hey Adam. I've been fiddling with Carroll's work a bit, I was going to switch back to the 1.5 sizing for the reasons you gave. I cheated on the alignment, so it look a bit off, I'll get around to fixing that when I resolve a couple of other things. It has had many contributors over the years, I fixed it to a page scan, but the most valuable contribution is the one you made. I wanted to nominate it for FT and I reckon you deserve the credit. I also wanted to discuss the transcript with someone, are you are interested in helping to give it a final polish? Cygnis insignis (talk) 07:27, 27 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Eternal Father, Strong to Save edit

I've altered the heading; the words are solely by Whiting and Dykes only wrote the music. I have a book with a careful transcription of the original words which differ marginally from the words you found; would it be OK with you if i amended?--Longfellow (talk) 11:38, 19 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
