proofread edit
I notice that you managed to correct the reworded text of that translation, but wonder how you managed to do this. Am I right in thinking that you ignored the text that was moved to the page from mainspace, and that you used the ocr text layer of the djvu file instead? regards, Cygnis insignis (talk) 10:58, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
- That would be the way to do it, but this is an unusual circumstance. A bot has placed the story we had against the image, if you click a redlink at the index you will see a machine read text instead. I thought that you had discovered that, and the different wording, which is much more difficult to detect the machine errors. You must have a talent for proofreading :-) You can find out more about by contributing by seeing how things have been done before, Wikisource:Featured texts contains some examples, explanations can get confusing. Let me know if you have any problems, and I will show you a solution. Use your preferences to watch what you edit, your watchlist will show the 'how to' of proofreading and formatting. DNB edit
Hello there - I did some troubleshooting on the four articles you created - the markup is quite sensitive (one thing was a section end tag that was thrown off by a double space). Great to see that you are staying with us and plugging away on the DNB project. Not wanting to drag you away from DNB, though if there are other interests or works that you have identified as lacking at WS, then do not be shy about bringing to to attention, or getting assistance to bring them onboard. — billinghurst sDrewth 00:18, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! I'm determined to finish Vol 17, I'm not too technical so if someone starts a project and I see the formatting I can usually replicate but I am not yet confident enough to strike out on my own, maybe I will have a look around and see if there are any other projects I can work on when I need a break from DNB. - That resembles how I "design" templates. There is always the Wikisource:Proofread of the Month, which is a shared work for the community, and always after fresh ideas on what works may be of interest. We have just finished the PotM for March, they worked like tigers! If you find a work of interest, there are plenty of people around who will help get it ready, just ask at WS:S.
