Thanks for making me feel welcome. Jafeluv (talk) 17:01, 25 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
Brought your mop and bucket skills with you. Very nice. While I will never ever dissuade you from that, what is your poison? Or just hiding among us nice Wikisourcers away from the rambunctious at WP? — billinghurst sDrewth 12:15, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I don't find WP all that bad, although it may be because I try to stay away from the worst dramapits :) The atmosphere here seems completely different than there, though, and definitely in a good way. I'm writing about jazz standards at WP, and I thought it would be nice to have a link to the lyrics and music to go with the articles. We don't have a way to show the music along with the lyrics, do we? I'm still kind of learning the syntax – once I figure out how to use the text quality tags I'll probably start using them. Eventually...
Oh and by the way, good luck in your election. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a rush of supporters toward the end :P Jafeluv (talk) 19:07, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
(Oops) We are still looking for a notation extension, and you will see something started recently at WS:S about one extension. Having problems getting tech heads to pay attention to any queries about it. Re Stewards, pretty much "yeah whatever" if the community doesn't want me out and about, it is okay with me, plenty here to do, and less grief. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:59, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Musicals +++ edit

Okay, it might be quieter to discuss here. Just explaining what we are looking to do, and I will assist, so not to worry that there will be a test at the end. AND Excuse me for being an explaining geek.

Firstly, we are going to use labelled section transclusions, utilising the Extension:Labeled Section Transclusion. The premise being that if we wrap corresponding labels around the text, we can pull the bits that we want. For example

FIRST PAGE
<section begin=song1 />
Lines
lines
lines<section end=song1 />

<section begin=song2 />
Lines2
lines2
lines2<section end=song2 />

<section begin=song1 />
Lines
lines
lines<section end=song1 />

<section begin=song2 />
Lines2
lines2
lines2<section end=song2 />

SECOND PAGE
ditto ditto ditto

Then we can transclude selectively like

{{page|filename.djvu/n|song1}}
{{page|filename.djvu/nn|song1}}

{{page|filename.djvu/n|song2}}
{{page|filename.djvu/nn|song2}}

First thing to do is to get the text on the pages, and copy and paste works well, then we can wrap section tags (need begin and end)

Big note, that if you are using monobook, then we have some extra toolbar buttons which may be useful. We even do installs if you are not comfortable and ask nicely. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:02, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

This is what I was looking for. I'll have to try it out with one of the already transcribed songs... Jafeluv (talk) 12:15, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
I made an example at User:Jafeluv/Sandbox/I'm So Busy (page 28 onwards). The wikitext is a mess, with all the noincludes and includeonlies, but the output is close to what I had in mind. (Compare with I'm So Busy, for example.) I'll get back to work and start creating the rest of the pages. Jafeluv (talk) 23:01, 1 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
You'll see that I have had a little play using {{RunningHeader}}, before I got distracted looking for a useful template that I don't think yet exists. Have a look at {{hyphenated word}} which partially does what we are looking for where you have been using the 'include' type tags. I would suggest that we can look to do something similar for a hard return in that we can have a hard return in one namespace, and not in another. That way we can have templify (to create a word) the ugly code around all the include statements. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:47, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Definitely a good idea to make a template for it. It's a pain in the figurative neck to type all the tags every time, and they do make the wikitext really hard to read. I'll try later if I can work something out at {{endl}} or similar. Jafeluv (talk) 13:06, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Trying to encourage plain English templates, so maybe {{line break}} which we can abbreviate to {{lb}}. Happy to help, but cannot for ~24hr — billinghurst sDrewth 13:26, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
Played in your sandbox to utilise a mix of transclusions to get around all the page labels., I may play another means too. Maybe! — billinghurst sDrewth

I've created a page for the musical at Have a Heart, and subpages for all the songs. I used the template notation above, since there was some problem in the sandbox with <pages> and I couldn't figure out what caused it. I'm unsure what to do with the instrumentals (the overture and "Remniscences"), though – maybe mark them as "without text" and create empty pages for them? Once we get a way to display musical notation, that problem will of course go away. Jafeluv (talk) 11:49, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

<pages> is useful for point A to point B transclusions, and doesn't work for selective partial transclusions. We need to fall back to {{page}}. In short, stick with PAGE|section= transclusion. For the other pages, I would mark them with the purple, to indicate need more work.
With regard to notation software, WMF's lead developer first wants to role out the next version, then he says it is next on his list to address. Generally he was in favour, and it is now about fixing the loose ends. — billinghurst sDrewth 12:19, 22 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

DJVU images versus copies from Archive.org edit

Looking at a couple of those pictures, it would seem that you have extracted them from the .djvu file as the compression for djvu can have some ugly results. I have found that if you have a look at the online version at archive.org, that you can bump it up to 100% view, right click and save as. From there you get a much better copy to be able to clean up for upload to Commons. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:47, 10 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

They did seem horrible quality, but I never thought that it was the file format that caused it. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try to reupload the files from archive.org later. Jafeluv (talk) 07:11, 10 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Re:Swedish edit

Yes, it's OK to revert that. I've got a problem with Page:A simplified grammar of the Swedish language.djvu/69 — there's a Scandinavian diacritic that's not on the diacritic template — it looks like a capital P with a cross on the top. --kathleen wright5 (talk) 01:32, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

I tried to put the diacritic thorn on the page using HTML Þ in edit mode but it didn't look the same as the original scan, which as I said had a cross on the top. --kathleen wright5 (talk) 02:25, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that's it, but I can't put it on myself because my browser Firefox renders it as a small square with the HTML code Ꝥ inside it—I also tried IE8 which rendered it as as the square with no HTML code. Could you put it on the page if you can. --kathleen wright5 (talk) 13:00, 24 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Wikitable formatting on - Page:A simplified grammar of the Swedish language.djvu/38 is not working. edit

In case you haven't noticed the Wikitable formatting on the above is not working. Could that be because Template:sc is being used inside it? --kathleen wright5 (talk) 11:20, 25 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Missed your regrading to cardinal edit

Fundamento_de_Esperanto edit

The discussion at Wikisource:Proposed_deletions#Fundamento_de_Esperanto.2FGrammar has been closed as move to eo. As you are the only contributor and there are cross wiki links that will break during the move, would you be willing to recreate the work properly at eo:Fundamento de Esperanto? Jeepday (talk) 10:30, 7 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sure. I can move the English chapter to eo.ws and correct links to point there instead of en.ws. I'll get to it today and will let you know when I'm done. Jafeluv (talk) 11:35, 7 November 2012 (UTC)Reply
Ok, all moved to eo: now. These can be deleted:
