FLADT, Anton, eminent oboist, born 1775 at Mannheim, studied under Ramm, succeeded Lebrun in the orchestra at Munich (1790). He travelled much, visiting Vienna (1793), Italy, the Tyrol, the Rhine, Saxony, Prussia, England (1798), Bohemia, Hungary, and France. When in London the Prince of Wales made him liberal offers to remain in England. After 1810 he resided entirely at Munich.
