אודאה, אודאותא, אודותא f. (ודי, Af. אודי) thanksgiving. Targ. Ps. XLV, 1 (var. אודאתא); a. e.
אודדא Ar. אודרא ed. m. (אדד, אדר, v. אדר; Syr. אודדא; cmp. אדדא, אדרא as to dial. var.) upholsterer's stuffing material, tow-cotton, wool. Sabb. 48a א׳ לאהדורי (Ms. M. אודדי Pl.) to put the stuffing back into the mattress. Ib. 141a (Ms. M. אודדא); v. אשישא. -- B. Bath. 58a דא׳ חביתא (Mss. דאודד׳) a vessel full of stuffings (enigmatical for bolsters). Ab. Zar. 28b וכ׳ דנדא א׳ (Ms. M, דנורא ארדא) tow cotton which has been dyed but not combed. B. אודיין, read אוריין. אודייני f. (ידי, נדי) whatever appertains to irrigation, sprinkling arrangements; hence the field cistern with its purtenances. B. Bath. 144a (Ms. אידיני, אידיי׳; v. Rashi a. l.) if a father left nothing וכ׳ א׳ אלא but a sprinkling business, what is earned with it belongs to all heirs alike. Ib. וכ׳ דלנטירותא א׳ שאני it is different with a sprinkling business, since all the attendance it requires, is watching (which minors can do just as well as adults). *אודייתא II f. (דוע, v. אדוותא) attendant, or super- intendentt of the vapor bath; cmp. אזי -- Y. Shebi. VIII, 38a א׳ זוסימי Zosime, the superintendent &c.
אודיצותא f. (דיץ) joy. Targ. Ps. LI, 10 (ed. Vien. אדי׳).
אודיקותא f. prop. outlook (v. דיק) hence pr. n. pl. Odikutha (h. ציץ). Targ. II Chron. XX, 16.
אודיתא . (ודי) confession, esp. document stating a debtors admission of his indebtedness in presence of witnesses. Snh. 29b.
אודם m. (אדם) red substance, fleshy substance [cmp. אדמה, אדק; b. h. אדם rubin]. Y. Kil. VIII, 31c bot. הא׳ האשה מן from the mother the embryo receives the sub- stance for forming skin, flesh, and blood; opp. לובן white, sticky substance. Nid. 32b מא׳ איש למעוטי to exempt man from being unclean from a red (blood) discharge, Opp. to לובן white gonorrhoeic discharge.

אודנא II f. (from its shape, v. foreg. a. P. Sm. 40) 1) leather-bottle, jar (a liquid measure). Pl. אודנין. Y. Maas. Sh. IV, 55b bot. (to one who had dreamt he had four udnin=ears, v. foreg.) ותרתי אדניך תרתי את מלוי דגרבא אודנוי thou shalt have wine enough to fill thy own two udnin (wine jars), and two udnin (measures) of a garba (v. גרבא I) besides. - 2) (Syr. אוזנא, וזנא P. Sm. 49, 1061) bath-tub. Ber. 22a was sitting דמיא בא׳ Ar. (ed. באגנא, Ms. Beth. Nath. באוזנא) in a tub filled with an udna of water. Sabb. 157b דמיא א׳ . . Ar. (ed. באוונא, Ms. M. אדנא) by a bath-tub.
אודנא III, אדינא (f. ?) (=h. אדן; cmp. b. h. הדם; דא, דנא; cmp. דוך) foot-stool, camp-chair, folding stool. Targ. Jer. XLIII, 10 אודניה Ar. (ed. אפדניה). - Pl. אודניא, אדיניא. Targ. II Est. I, 2 אודנוי תרתין (תרין?) the double footstool of king Solomon. Tosef. Kel. B. Mets. VIII, 6 מטה וכ׳ וישן (not מיטה) when it bends in (under the weight) but one can sleep on it; if it was originally so made, טמאה (not טהורה) it is unclean כאו׳ שהיא מפני ed. Zuck. (Var. אדיניא, ed. אדוניא) because it is made like a double footstool.
