אסנא, אוסנא m. (אסן=h. חסן, אסם) store-house, granary. -- Pl. אסנייא. Targ. Joel I, m7 (Var. אוס׳, ה׳).
אסנא or אסנא m. (=h. סנה, v. Ges. H. Dict. s. v.) 1) thorn-bush, bramble. Targ. Ex. III, 2; a. e. -Sabb. 67a א׳ א׳ Ms. M. (ed. הסנה, הסנה) Oh thormbush Ab. Zar. 28a דא׳ גירדא parings of the bramble wood. -- 2) shrubbbbery fruit, bramble nut. Ib b דא׳ קשייתא the stones of &c. --- Pl. אסני a drink made of shrubbery fruitt(). (Isp. noun of פלא) solemn declara- tion. --Pl. אספליאת. Deut. R. s. 7, beg. וכ׳ א׳ ג׳ בו יש אאמן Amen contains three kinds of solemn declarations, oath (vow), consent, and confirmation; v. אספלידא, איס׳ m. (Ispe. noun of פלד; Arab. פלד, o cut, v. fes. H. Dict. s. v.; cmp. פרד); a cut-off place, recess, whence 1) cave, cleft. Targ. Y. Ex. XXXIII, 22 (h. text נקרה). Targ. Ps. LVII, 1 (ed. אוס׳). -- 2)er- edra (v. אכסדרא), recess in the house, sitting room in the shape ofan open hall, generallysupported by columns. B.
