לחת ch., Af. אלחית same. [Targ. II Kings IV, 34, sq., v. להת.) -- Lev. R. s. 13 וכ׳ מלחית טעין את when burdened thou pantest, when unburdened thou pantest. -- Pesik. B'shall. p. 86b בלישניה מלחית כלבא דהדין לפום because a dog (ha- bitually) lolls his tongue; Yalk. Ex. 227.
לחתא, ליחתא, לו׳ f. (v. לחי, לחיא), דכרעא ל׳ the splint-bone, the oulter, somaller bone of the leg, fibula. Yeb. 103a דכרעיה ל׳ על דסגי מאן האי Ar. ed. Koh. (V ar. לו׳; ed. לי׳) he who walks on hbis splint-bone (his feet being turned outward so as to form an obtuse angle).

לטום m. (b. h. לט) gum-mastich (Ladanum), a resin used as perfume. Targ. Gen. XXXVII, 25. - Shebi. VII, 6 לומם (Ms. M.aלטס; Y. ed. לוטת); Nidd. 8a לטום. [Maim. a. oth. ttake our w. for chestnut or haeelnut, whereas the context proves in favor of a resin.]
לטומיא, לאוטומיאt(~~~~ia, lautumiae) quarry. Onol. XVII, וכ׳ מלטומיא Talm. ed. (Mish. מלטימיא; ed. Dehr. מלהטמייא) he who starts ploughing from a. quarry (where chips of stones, bones &c. are deposited) or from a deposit of bones &c.; Tosef. ib. XVII, 3 מלוא טימיא ed. Zuck. (read מלאוט׳; ed. הטמא מלא, corr. acc.). [Comment.; zs טמיא מלא fall of bones; but מ is the prefix as context proves.]

לטותא f. (לטי) curse. Snh. 48b אבוך דלטייה לטותיה (Yalk. Kings 172 לווטתא) his curse with which thy father cursed him (euphemism for; the curse with which thy father cursed me). Nidd. 13b תננן ל׳ או תנן דינא does the Mishnah (II, 1) mean a law (punishment) or an execration?
