לכך (cmp. לכלך) to mix thoroughly, to beat oil and wine (corresp. to h. טרף). Sabb. 134a לילוך לא Ms. M. (ed. לילך, v. Rabb. D. S. a.l. note) let him not mix it thoroughly by beating.

לכלוך, ליכ׳ m. (לכלך) 1) (= לחלו) making palat- able by moistening, as dipping into vinegar &c. Y. Ber. VIII, 12a bot. משקה ל׳ בו שיש דבר כל any food which is likely to be moistened with a liquid. Ruth R. to II, 14. (ref. to וכ׳ וטבלת ib.) מעשים ל׳ זה this is symbolical of tthe seasoning of (Solomon's) deeds, i. e. of his amendig his deeds, v. לכלך. -- [Pesik. Eth. Korb., p. 58a, a. e., v. לחלוך.] -- 2) soiling, staining. Midr. Till. to Ps. XXIII; Yalk. Deut. 808 (play on לכתך Deut. II, 7) לכלוכך הילוכך וכ׳ thy travels, thy getting soiled and thy pains about. thy support. -- Pl. לכלוכין, ליכ׳. Mikv. IX, 4; Tosef. ib. VI,. 17 צואה כלוכי ל the (moist) stains of excrements. Ib. 9 פירות ל׳ ed. Zuck. (ed. לכולם, corr. acc.) stains of fruit- juice. Ib. 18 שבכיס שממרים ל׳ the muddy sediments in the cup.
לכלוכית, ליכ׳ f.same.1) glutinous moisture, humors; rritality. Gen. R. s. 61 beg.; ib. s. 48 Ar., v. לחחזלוחית. Ib. s. 79 וכ׳ לי׳ בך תביא Ar. (read; ל׳ בכל תבוא) tthou shalt go tto the gra w e in the ulness of vigor; (ed. לח תבוא, v. לח). -- 2) thick nauseatung substance. Lev. R. s. 14 טיפה ל של (of the semen virile). Ned. 66b, v. יפה.
לכלך, ליכ׳ (cmp. לכך) 1) (= לחלת) to moisten; to season by dipping into vinegar &c. Ruth R. to II, 14 (v. לכלוך) דעים כחומיןממעשים מעשיו של he(Manasseh) amend- ed his conduct as if with vinegar (freeing it) from bad deeds. -Part.pass.מלוכל, .מלוכלכת; ptמלובלכיס ;מלוכלכות. Y. Hag. Prov. 944 (ref. to Prov. . c.) בטיט מלכלכו הא . . . . אם if thou puttest a golden ornament on the nose of a swine, it. will soil it with mud &c.; תורתי את מלכשך . . ת״ח כך so does a scholar . . . soil his learniny; (Midr. Prov. . c. מקלקל). -- Part. pass. as ab. Yoma 77b וכ׳ מלוכלכות ידיו היו Ms. M. 2 (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 100) if his hands are soiled &c. Gen. R. s. 65 מל׳ בבגדים משמשו הייתי I used to attend him in soiled (working) garments. Ex. R. s. 22, end (ref. to Job XVI, 17) וכ׳ בגזל מל׳ שידיו מי he whose hands are soiled with robbery, will call . . . . but not be answered. Ib. s. 21, end בעבירות מל׳ soiled with sins. Lev. III, 3a כליו נתלכלכו (not נתכלכלו; Bab. b. 30a נטנפו) if his garments were soiled. Gen. R. s. 65 בעוונות מתלכלך defiles himself with sins. Ex. R. s. 23; Cant. R. to I, 5 מתלכלכת, v. כבס. Esth. R. to II, 7 בטומאה נתלכלכתי I became soiled wiih impurity; a. e.
לכלך ch. same, 1) to moisten, saturate. Part. pass. מלכלך. Y. Meg. III, 74a bot. באורייתא מל׳ saturated with knowledge. - 2) to soil. Y. Ab. Zar. V, 45a top (expl. עקבת יין sediment, Mish. ib. 10) דמלכלך בההוא it means that remnant of wine which soils (is thick, with ref. to עקבה, Hos. VI, 8).

לכתא f. (הלך] going, thrusting forward, ומיתנא ל׳ thrusting forward and pulling home, a bolt or pin attached to a cord for fastening the panniers, barrels &c. which hang down on each side of the beast of burden. Sabb. 102a ומ׳ לל׳ it applies to thrusting a bolt which you can pull back by the cord in your hand; [Rashi reads; מתבא rope.] --- Ib. 154b בל׳ aא (Ar. some ed. בליכאתא pl.) or when the burdens are fastened with a bolt (which you can pull out without touching the animal).
