Prajadhipok R

Phra Bat Somdet Phra Paramin Maha Prajadhipok Phra Pok Klao Chaoyuhua gives a great royal command by which He declares to all an order that the following be announced for general information:

Whereas the House of Representatives has presented Him with this advice: After the Council of Ministers, which had Second-Class High Courtier Phraya Manopakonnitithada as the Premier, advised Him to announce, and countersigned, the Royal Decree dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era for prorogation of the House of Representatives and suspension of the application of certain sections of the Constitution without relying upon any constitutional power, thereby causing deterioration to the sanctity of the Constitution, the new Prime Minister, Colonel Phraya Phahonphonphayuhasena, together with a party of army officers, naval officers, and civilians, had to arrange for the former Council of Ministers to resign so as to pave the way for Him to grant the opening of the House of Representatives, and the President of the House of Representatives, First-Class High Courtier Chaophraya Phichaiyat, had to arrange for the successful opening of a session of the House in line with the requests from Colonel Phraya Phahonphonphayuhasena and from Members [of the House] seeking the opening of the House of Representatives according to section 32 of the Constitution.

Now that He has granted the opening of an extraordinary session of the House of Representatives and the Constitution has smoothly been implemented, it is appropriate to repeal the Royal Decree Proroguing the House of Representatives dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era;

Therefore, by and with the advice and consent of the House of Representatives, He orders with His gracious pleasure that an Act be enacted as follows:

Section1.This Act shall be called the "Act for Repeal of the Royal Decree Proroguing the House of Representatives Dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era".

Section2.This Act shall come into application from the day of its publication in the Royal Gazette onwards.

Section3.Repealed shall be the Royal Decree Proroguing the House of Representatives dated 1 April 2476 Buddhist Era.

Section4.As regards the other laws and ordinances which have been promulgated since that day on until now, they shall continue to be applicable until there are different provisions according to the constitutional process.

Announced on the 27th day of June 2476 Buddhist Era, being the 9th year of the present reign.

Countersignatory:

Colonel Phraya Phahonphonphayuhasena
Prime Minister
