(or gen. fil.); student of Inner Temple, 1614 (as son and heir of Francis, of Winchendon, Bucks, kt.), the friend of Hampden, commander-in-chief of the forces of Buckinghamshire 1643, M.P. Chipping Wycombe 1621-2, 1624-5, Aylesbury 1626, Bucks April and May, 1640, and 1640 (l.p.), until his death at Wooburn, Bucks, 19 Aug., 1643.
