Comyns, John, of Writtle, Essex, created D.C.L. 8 July, 1756. John Comyns, son and heir Richard Comyns, serj.-at-law, bar.-at-law, Inner Temple, 1724, and of Lincoln's Inn ('ad eundem') 5 Feb., 1730-1, and master of the Bench, Inner Temple, 1754, nephew and heir-at-law in 1740 of Sir John Comyns, lord chief baron of the Exchequer.
