Dalrymple, Robert, s. John, of Brockenhurst, Kent, arm. Oriel Coll., matric. 6 Dec., 1787, aged 15; B.A. 1791, M.A. 1794 (? bar.-at-law, Middle Temple, 1795, and of Gray's Inn 'ad eundem' 1815) evidently son of Admiral John Dalrymple by Eleanora, daughter of Sir Charles Howard — the admiral was grandson of Sir James Dalrymple, of Borthwick, 2nd son of James, ist Viscount Stair.
