Daniell, John Frederick, F.R.S., professor of chemistry at King's College, London, 1829-45, created D.C.L. 28 June, 1843, foreign secretary of the Royal Society 1839, examiner in chemistry University of London, received the Rumford medal 1832, the Copley medal 1836, and the Royal medal 1842, died suddenly in the council room of the Royal Society 14 March, 1845.
