Magdalen Hall, matric. 2 June, 1821, aged 20; B.A. 1825, created D.C.L. 3 July, 1851, archdeacon of Waipu, New Zealand, 1842-59, bishop 1859-77, died 9 Feb., 1878, author of a 'Dictionary of the New Zealand Language,' father of William Leonard.
