Liu Zongyuan
(773–819)

formerly romanized Liu Tsung-yüan; Chinese writer and poet who lived during the Tang Dynasty. He was a founder of the Classical Prose Movement, and has been traditionally classed as one of the Eight Great Prose Masters of the Tang and Song.
