Bengali aristocrat (last Maharaja of Santosh), writer, politician and football administrator1, co-founder of East Bengal Football Club (1920)23 and All India Football Federation (1937); became president of Indian Football Association in 1930, was minister in government of Bengal (1921-27)4 and president of Legislative Council of Bengal (1927-36)5. The national football championship of Indian states, Santosh Trophy, was started in his memory in 1941.
