Graduate of Birkenhead School. Hon. M.A. (Liverpool). Hon. Secretary and General Editor of Historical Society of Lancashire and Cheshire. Hon. Local Secretary for Cheshire of the Society of Antiquaries. Author of Liverpool in the reign of Charles II.; Old Halls of Wirral; &c.[1] Father of "Sandy" Irvine, who died on Mount Everest.[2]
