I believe this will be the third son of Author:Thomas Hughes, see [1] for an Arthur Hughes born 1862 or 1863 matriculating at Oriel College, Oxford. Charles Matthews (talk) 13:02, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
I have found convincing information in John Cann Bailey (1935). John Bailey, 1864-1931: Letters and Diaries. Murray. Snippets only on Google Books, but I have looked at hard copy. Note on p. 25: Arthur Hughes was educated at Haileybury, matriculated at Oriel, but did not graduate (breakdown). He died in Beccles, Suffolk in 1921. On p. 41 (note), he worked as secretary to Auberon Herbert. Charles Matthews (talk) 18:23, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
