Beauregard  v.  City of New Orleans

THIS was an appeal from the circuit court of the United States, for the eastern district of Louisiana.

It was a bill filed by Madame Emilie Poultney, in her lifetime, against the city of New Olreans, and about eight hundred and fifty other parties, some of whom included a number of persons, such as the Presbyterian Church, Bank of the United States, &c. &c.

The facts in the case are stated in the opinion of the court.

In November, 1854, the circuit court dismissed the bill, and the complainant appealed to this court.

It was argued by Mr. Henderson, for the appellants, and Mr. Taylor, for the appellees.

Mr. Justice CAMPBELL delivered the opinion of the court.
