Category:Index pages by language

Populated via the "Language" field in the Index page form. Works should be categorised on the basis of the original language(s) of the published work in the scan, rather than the language of the transcription used at Wikisource, if different. That is to say, if the original text was in French, but the text entered in the Page edit form is in English (i.e. a Wikisource translation), you should still use the language code fr.

These works may be transcluded into the main namespace when they consist of original English and non-English pages (e.g. a parallel text with Greek on one page and English on the facing page); or they may be transcluded into the Translation namespace when the English translation has been made by a Wikisource contributor.

If the work as published is in English (i.e. the text on the page is in English), use en, even if the work is an English translation of a work in another language. The Wikidata property edition or translation of (P629) should capture the relationship between the translated edition and the original work.
