AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION TWO OF ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED “AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO PURCHASE ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, SEVENTY THOUSAND SHARES OF THE CAPITAL STOCK OF THE MANILA RAILROAD COMPANY OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, AND TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR PAYING THE PRICE OF SAID SHARES.”

AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION TWO OF ACT NUMBERED THIRTY-ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTEEN, AS AMENDED, ENTITLED “AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO PURCHASE ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, SEVENTY THOUSAND SHARES OF THE CAPITAL STOCK OF THE MANILA RAILROAD COMPANY OF THE PHILIPPINE ISLANDS, AND TO PROVIDE FUNDS FOR PAYING THE PRICE OF SAID SHARES.”

Be it enacted by the National Assembly of the Philippines:

SECTION 1.

Section two of Act Numbered Thirty-one hundred and sixteen is amended so as to read as follows:

“SEC. 2. The Manila Railroad Company of the Philippines shall expend these funds for the construction of railroad lines and the purchase of the necessary rolling stock equipment therefor, and especially for the completion of the lines between Aloneros, Tayabas, and Pamplona, Camarines Sur; between Bauang Sur and San Fernando, La Union; between San Quintin and Tayug, Pangasinan; and between Tarlac, Tarlac, and San Jose, Nueva Ecija, and for the construction or acquisition of hotels and rest-houses at various points in the Philippines.”

SEC. 2.

This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
