Summary

Description1980open23.png	English: Origin of Plasmas in the Earth's Neighborhood 23. Soon, a number of major spaceflight missions will combine in a thorough investigation of the solar-terrestrial energy chain. Sketched here are two spacecraft soaring out of Earth's orbital plane over each pole of the Sun at the same time that OPEN satellites probe the magnetosphere and Shuttle takes other experiments, such as UARS, into orbit nearer Earth's atmosphere.
