Description
English: Sketch by George Henry Haydon accompanying his account of a stay on a small uninhabited island near Australia, where he had gone to try to make money cutting mangrove trees. Previous European visitors had left behind a plague of rodents, so that he was forced to use his trousers in the manner illustrated to preserve his supplies. Once a Week magazine, volume 6, page 699.
