Deutsch: John Charles Fremont (bekannt auch als The Pathfinder) (* 21. Januar 1813 in Savannah, Georgia, † 13.
English: John Charles Frémont ( January 21, 1813July 13, 1890), born John Charles Fremont, was an American military officer, explorer, the first candidate of the Republican Party for the office of President of the United States, and the first Presidential candidate of a major party to run on a platform in opposition to slavery. He has the largely self-produced title of The Great Pathfinder.
