You can incrementally improve this image by downloading it, editing it, and uploading the edited image over the top of the current version. The new version will then appear in place of the current. Only incrementally improved images should be uploaded over the top of this image. As such, this image must only be displayed on pages only by the {{Raw image}} or {{Missing image}} template. If you fully restore this image, and want to display it outside one of these templates, then you must first upload it under a different title.
To fully restore the image, the process is:
Download this image
Edit the File:— Rotate, crop, colour-balance, etc.
Choose a suitable new name for the image, and save in an appropriate format (usually PNG for diagrams and line drawings, JPG for photographs and detailed artwork).
Upload the edited image
In nearly all cases, fully restored images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, not the English Wikisource.
Typical code for inserting an image is: [[File:Edited Image Name.png|frameless|center]]
Do not directly insert this raw page scan this way; raw page scans should only be inserted via the image maintenance tag templates such as {{Missing image}} and {{Raw image}}.
This media file is in the public domain in the United States. This applies to U.S. works where the copyright has expired, often because its first publication occurred prior to January 1, 1929, and if not then due to lack of notice or renewal. See this page for further explanation.
This image might not be in the public domain outside of the United States; this especially applies in the countries and areas that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works, such as Canada, Mainland China (not Hong Kong or Macao), Germany, Mexico, and Switzerland. The creator and year of publication are essential information and must be provided. See Wikipedia:Public domain and Wikipedia:Copyrights for more details.
