PUBLISHER’S PREFACE.

This new edition of Hans Andersen contains several additional Fairy Tales, for the first time translated from the Danish by Mrs. Paull, to whose able pen we are indebted for the previous editions. The sixteen Coloured Plates and the Woodcut Illustrations are from the hand of a Danish Artist, who is considered to have an especial gift for depicting the scenes described by his celebrated countryman.
