Index talk:Catalog of Copyright Entries 1965 Works of Art Jan-June Renewals.djvu

This is part of a project to close a gap in the transcriptions of copyright renewals for artworks and other images. Project Gutenberg Distributed Proofreaders have transcribed the renewals through 1964 ([1] [2]), and renewals from 1978 onward are found in the official copyright database. Renewals from 1965 to 1977 (for images copyrighted from 1937 to 1950) can be examined only by the tedious process of scrolling through PDF's. If we can produce a proofread transcription of these renewals, it will streamline the overall process of researching the public-domain status of images. Toohool (talk) 04:38, 6 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Formatting edit

  • The heading for each author should be formatted as a level-3 heading, e.g. ===DISNEY, WALT E.===
  • Any continuation heading at the beginning of a page (e.g. DUCHAMP, MARCEL.-Con) can be omitted.
  • Single-letter headings (found at the start of each letter of the alphabet) can be omitted.
  • Under an author heading, each listed work by that author should be a paragraph, i.e. separated by blank lines.
  • No need to delete the linebreaks to combine each listed work into a single line (except to join a word broken up across lines by a hyphen).
  • At the end of each page, add
{{nop}}
__NOTOC__
so that the last listing on the page won't be joined with the first listing on the next page, and so that no table of contents will be added.
  • There are a lot of stray marks that sometimes look like diacritics. There are also sometimes diacritics added by hand. Try to use context to determine if there is really a diacritic.
