I just had a quick look at first few pages, and found many of them (e.g. 3, 6, 8, 9, 11, 12) are not really scans, but seem like OCRed texts, and some of them are not even complete. --Stevenliuyi (talk) 15:24, 23 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Are you currently using one of the scans found at the BNAISE site
I'm looking at both of these and think the first one is a bit clearer than the second, with the second a bit darker/bolder, but then the characters aren't as distinct.
And the scan currently attached to the index has pages that break? Like p. 705? Shenme (talk) 00:03, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
I looked at HathiTrust's scan, e.g. p. 702, and it is worse that both of the above.
But I think all of these are better than the current backing scan, e.g. p. 702.

Yes I'm currently using the BNAISE scans, and I agree that both of them and the HathiTrust's scan are better than the current one. But I'm not sure what's the common practices here to replace the file? Just upload as a new version to the current file, or as a separate file and then move all the pages to the new one? --Stevenliuyi (talk) 07:04, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Stevenliuyi: I restored the original version of the file, which was overwritten with a broken PDF. You can simply replace the file in-place, then let me know if the pages need shifting up or down and I can do that for you with a bot. Inductiveloadtalk/contribs 07:07, 18 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Shenme, @Inductiveload: I tried to upload the first BNAISE scan mentioned above, but it has the same weird OCR issue as before, so I reverted back to the earlier version. Besides, I find that the second one is actually a 2010 reprint. It's exactly the same as the original edition except for the additional copyright page, but I'm not sure if we can upload it. --Stevenliuyi (talk) 16:41, 19 June 2021 (UTC)Reply
