צנצנת f. (b. h.; v. צנן) a bottle of glossy material. Mekh. B'shall., Vayassa, s. 5; Tanh. B'shall. 2 1 (ref. to Ex. XVI, 33) וכ׳ המצי דבר . . . צ׳ תל . . . יודע איני 1 should not have known of what material it was, whether of silver . ., therefore the text has tsintseneth, something that glistens more than anything else, that is, a (glazed) earthen vessel. Ib. המן צ׳ the bottle of manna (which was preserved), v. צלוחית. Tanh. Noah 18 וכ׳ מלאה צ׳ a. bottle full of live locusts.
