שופכים, שופכין m. pl. (שפך) that which is poured out into the gutter, wastewater. Sabb. VIII, 1 הש׳ וכל וכ׳ and the measure for all kinds of dirty waters is one- fourth of a Log (for Sabbath laws). שופע m. (שפע) plenty, liberality. Lev. R. s. 4 שלשה בש׳ ונותנין בש׳ נוטלין three powers take plentifully and give plentifully; the earth, the sea, and the government.
שופר m. (b. h.; שפר) [rounded; cmp. שפופרת,) 1) horn, trumpet, Shofar, contrad. to חצצרות. R. Hash. III, 3 נש׳ וכ׳ השנה ראש של the horn for the New Year's Day (used in the Temple) was from a mountain-goat, straight, and its mouthpiece was inlaid with gold. Ib. וכ׳ מאריך ש׳ the tone of the shofar was prolonged, that of the accom- panyng trumpets short. Ib. 4. Lev. R. s. 29; a. v. fr. --- Pl. שופרות. R. Hash. III, 2, v. קרן. Lev. שופרזא m. (Paleg of שפר, v. שופר) drinking horn. - Pl. שופרזי. Ketb. 65a האי כי בשש׳ ליה משקי דהוו that they gave him to drink of horns like this (as large as my arm). --[Ar. reads זייני בשפר soldiers' horn ().]
