תירייקא, תירייקי, תר׳ f. (~~~~א~, theriaca) theriak, a certain compound believed to be an antidote against poisonous bites; in general a remedy, medicine. Sabb. 109b (v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 1), v. כנגד. Ned. 41b לגופא תירייקי כי (Ar. קא . . ) as wholesome as theriac for the body. Ib. תירייקה ולא היא לא I want neither it (the fever) nor its slleged good efect. Cant. R. to IV, 5 [read;] תריאקה אותן ועשו מדמיהן והביאו הרופאים שלחו וכ׳ ובה the physicians sent (to Alexandria) and got some of their blood (of menstruation) and made a theriak of it, and with it they healed &c. -- [Ab. תישוע m. (תשע) 1) nine-tenths; 2) one-ninth. Y. Dem. VII, 26c top וכ׳ ת׳ של ות׳ תישועין שני נוטל he takes twice nine-tenths (of ten), and one-ninth of nine-tenths, which makes ten for the first tithe, and nine for the second. But why not say nineteen'? Said R. Z., the words of the wise and their riddled'. Ib. [read] הרוצה של ות׳ תישועין שני ותאינה תאינה כל על נוטל . . . להכניס תאינה של תישועין וארבעה ושלש עשרים שהן ת׳ he who wishes to bring into his house one hundred figs available for use, must count for each fig an addition of) two- ninths and one-ninth of one-ninth, which makes (an addition of) ttwenty-three fgs and four-ninths of a fg (23, and as nearest to ). -- Pl. תישועין, Ib. Y. Erub. II, 20b חלתותין עשר תשעה שם נשתייר . . ת׳ ארבעה מהן צא תשוע חסר (not תלתולין) deduct therefrom (from 6 4) four- ninths forr the four sides, and there remain nineteen thirds less one-ninth (s 66 ).

גשרא) bridge (Assyr. titurru). B. Bath. 21a ת׳ איכא ואי וכ׳ ממטינן if there is a bridge, we may let the children cross the river (to attend school on the other side), but if there is only a cross-board (גמלא I) &c. Ned. 41a מטא וכ׳ ת׳ when he came to a bridge, the animal shied. -- Trnsf דתפלין ח׳ the skin drawn over the capsule of the Tfillia of the arm after the inscriptions have been put in, bottomm of the casule with a hollow rim (מעברתא). תך m. (תכך) twisted cord, ring. - Pl. תכים. Y. M eg. II, 73a bot. וכ׳ ת׳ . . שנים בה תפר אם if he joined the sheets of the M'gillah by means of two or three rings, it is fit for use.
תכא, תי׳ ch. same, ring, chain. Targ. Koh. IV, 12 כת׳ וכ׳ דמגדלא (not כתיבא) like a chain plaited of cords, each consisting of three threads (h. text המשלש חוט). - Pl, חכין, תכיא, תעי, תי׳. Targ. O. תכא II m. (v. preced. art.; cmp. Assyr. tukku shield, a. Lat. scutum a. scutella) salver, tray fof ttwisted osiers). Ber. 42a וכ׳ ת׳ דסליק לבתר after the tray before them was removed. Ib. וכ׳ דריש את׳ אנן we count on the tray of the Resh f'lutha (who sends ms portions of what is placed before him). B. Mets. 86aקמיה ת׳ קריבו they placed a tray before him (with food and drink). Pes. 110b תרי את׳ וחד ת׳ קמי two cups before the tray is brought in, and one during the meal. Yeb. 63b, v. קשם; a. fr.

B'shall., p. 92a, a. e. ת׳ צריכין היו ולא but did they (their garments in the desert) not need washing? M. Kat. 15a, a. e. אבל בת׳ אסור a mourner is forbidden to wash his clothes. Hull. 31b ראשונה ת׳ washing the first time (Lev. XIII, 54), ת׳ שניה washing a second time (ib. 58); a. fr.
