William Forbes, Esq., who was created a Baronet of Nova Scotia, by patent, dated 31st March, 1626, to himself and his heirs male whomsoever, of the lands, barony, and regality of Forbes, within the region of Nova Scotia, in North America. Peebles ; of 17, Ainslie-place, Edinburgh ; and of the New Club, Edinburgh, J. P. and D.L. for co. Peebles, and Secretary to the Commissioners in Lunacy for Scotland ; b. 1803 ; educated at the University of Edinburgh ; called to the Scottish Bar, 1825 ; m. 1841, Mary Anne, second daughter of the late John Archer Houblon, Esq. of Hallingbury, CO. Essex, M.P., and has had, John Houblon, J. P. for co. Peebles; b. 1852; m. 29th March, 1883, Hon.
