N. 25˚ E. The dip is about 30˚ bearing E, but blocks are tilted in every direction. To the east I failed to find a corresponding dip from the granite westward to form the east limb of the syncline. The relations are about thus: ((drawing in field book)). NW is a white quartz blowout on a high hill on E side Deadman Creek Deadman Creek, Colorado. It bears N 29˚ W from Red Mt. Red Mt., Colorado. And S 25˚ E of Virginia Dale Mt. Virginia Dale Mt., Colorado The quartz continued on SW as an interrupted ridge and also occurs on S side of this plain, in each case not more than a mile or so into the granite. About a mile S of the first mentioned outcrop, the conglomerate dips 4˚ bearing S 48˚ E. In that vicinity, as usual, the outcrop of Fountain and granite is occupied by a valley.
