Cloudy and cool. Had dinner at 11:45. Started west at 12:30. I about the middle of the medial “Dakota” shales we found Inoceramus cf. labiatus Inoceramus labiatus and Avicula linguiformis Avicula linguiformis as at Owl Canyon Owl Creek Canyon, with other spp. and many plant stems. In west limb of W syncline basal Dakota sandstone is very massive and hard, and Morrison consists mostly of hard limestones and calcareous sandstones below, upper part covered. Found no fossils.
