24. Ne mæg nān man twām hlāfordum þēowian; oððe hē sōðlīce ǣnne hatað and ōðerne lufað, oððe hē bið ānum gehȳrsum and ōðrum ungehȳrsum. Ne magon gē Gode þēowian and woruldwelan.^[3]

25. For þām ic secge ēow þæt gē ne sīn ymbhȳdige ēowre sāwle hwæt gē eton, ne ēowrum līchaman mid hwām gē sȳn ymbscrȳdde. Hū nys sēo sawl sēlre þonne mete, and ēower līchama betera þonne þæt rēaf?^[4]

26. Behealdað heofonan fuglas, for þām þe hig ne sāwað, nē hig ne rīpað, nē hig ne gadriað on berne; and ēower heofonlīca Fæder hig fēt. Hū ne synt gē sēlran þonne hig?^[5]
