10. Þā wæs þǣr ān man sē hæfde forscruncene hand. And hī āhsudon hyne þus cweðende, Ys hyt ālȳfed tō hǣlenne on restedagum? þæt hī wrēhton hyne.[1]

11. Hē sǣde him sōþlīce, Hwylc man ys of ēow þe hæbbe ān scēap, and gyf þæt āfylþ restedagum on pytt, hū ne nymþ hē þæt and hefþ hyt ūpp?[2]

12. Witodlīce micle mā mann ys scēape betera! witodlīce ys ālȳfed on restedagum wel tō dōnne.[3]

13. Đā cwæð hē tō þām menn, Āþene þīne hand. And hē hī āþenede; and hēo wæs hāl geworden swā sēo ōþer.[4]

Đys [godspel] sceal on wōdnesdæg on þǣre xiiii. wucan ofer pentecosten.

14. Þā sundorhālgan ēodun þā ūt sōþlīce, and worhton geþeaht ongēn hyne hū hī hyne forspildon.[5]

15. Sē Hǣlend sōþlīce þæt wiste, and fērde þanon, and him fyligdon mycel mænigeo; and hē hǣlde hig ealle;[6]

16. and bebēad him þæt hig hyt nānum men ne sǣdon:
