8. Þis folc mē mid welerum wurþað, and hyra heorte ys feorr fram mē;[1]

9. būtan intingan hig mē wurþiaþ, and lǣrað manna lāra.[2]

10. And hē þā, ðām menegum tōgædere geclypedum, þus cwæð, Gehȳrað and ongytaþ:[3]

11. ne besmīt þone mann þæt on hys mūþ gǣþ; ac hyne besmīt þæt of hys mūþe gǣþ.[4]

12. Þā genēalǣhton hys leorningcnihtas, and cwǣdon, Wāst þū þæt þā Fariseiscean synt gedrēfede, þisum worde gehȳredum?[5]

13. Þā andswarode hē him, Ǣlc plantung þe mīn heofenlīca Fæder ne plantode byþ āwyrtwalod.[6]

14. Lǣtað hī; hig synt blinde and blindra lāttēowas. Sē blinda gyf hē blindne lǣt, hig feallað bēgen on ǣnne pytt.[7]

15. Đā andswarode him Petrus, Ārece ūs þis bigspell.[8]

16. Đā andswarode hē him, And synt gē gȳt būtan andgyte?[9]

17. Ne ongyte gē þæt eall þæt on þone mūþ gǣþ gǣþ on þā wambe, and byþ on forþgang āsend?
