MARRONE, Dominick J.,

Lawyer, World War Veteran.

Having practiced his profession of law for the past three years in Hoboken, New Jersey, where he resides, Mr. Marrone is enjoying an ever-increasing clientage and is held in esteem by the natives of Italy in this city who have benefited from his active interest in their behalf. Huis par- ents are Caesar and Josephine (Carde- nali) Marrone, both of whom are living in Hoboken, where the father is engaged with the business of paper mill supplies. Dominick J. Marrone was born in Ho- boken, New Jersey, June 1, 1894, where he graduated from Public School No. 8 and the high school. Then, for a period of five months he was a medical student in New York University, leaving to enter the New Jersey Law School, at Newark, New Jersey, from which he graduated in 1918 with the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws. In that same year he was admitted to the bar and has been practicing in Hoboken since that time. In politics Mr. Marrone is a Republican, and fraternally a member of the Benevo- lent and Protective Order of Elks. He is also a member of the Oxford Athletic Association, of Hoboken, and until forced to resign from the pressure of other duties he had been president and organizer of the Italian-American Citizens’ League. He was a member of the social and welfare committee of the Elks’ Club for two years. He served three months in the United States army at Camp Dix, in the psycho- logical department, and now holds mem- bership in the American Legion, Hobo- ken Post No. 107. Mr. Marrone is not married. CARLUCCIO, Joseph A., Real Estate Operator. One of the energetic and progressive young business men of Hoboken, New Jersey, is Joseph A. Carluccio, who is an important factor in the real estate and insurance business here. Mr. Carluccio is one of Hoboken’s native sons, having been born here March 21, 1897, his par- ents being John Baptist and Maria Rosa Carluccio, who came from Italy, the land of their birth. His father is engaged in real estate and insurance also. In acquiring his education Mr. Carluc- sio attended the public and high schools of Hoboken, and also enjoyed the advan- tage of private instruction. Before begin- ning his independent business career, the World War being in progress, he offered his services to his country and was sent to France as a member of the signal corps, and was there from June, 1918, to July, Ι019, attached to the telegraph depart- ment of general headquarters. Immedi- ately after returning to civil life, in Oc- tober, 1919, Mr. Carluccio started in the real estate and insurance business for him- self at Hoboken, opening his office at No. 68 Hudson street. He numbers among his insurance agencies a list of the best and most substantial companies in the coun- try, including the Alliance Insurance Company; the New Haven Underwriters, or the Security Insurance Company; Im- porters and Exporters of New York; In- demnity Insurance Company of North America; Scottish Union and National Insurance Company; State Assurance Company, Ltd., and the Liberty Fire In- surance Company of St. Louis. He is one of the best informed insurance writers in the city, and has placed a very large amount of business since he began opera- tions. In political belief Mr. Carluccio is an Independent. He unsuccessfully contested the 1923 election for office of commis- sioner for the city of Hoboken. While giving the major part of his time to his business affairs, Mr. Carluccio also takes 415 Google
