The Princess defends herself, and accuses
Radamantus.
THE Mistresses hastened to fetch the Princess to her mother, amids the acclamations of all the people, who when she came before the Empress, fell on her knees, saying, Hail, Royal Mother! the cause of my silence was the malignity of some stars, who foretold, if I spoke more than one word for seven days space, I should die a shameful death, by the influence of a wicked enemy.
The Empress rejoiced to hear her daughter speak fell on her neck, and tenderly embraced her.
Then the Princess accused Radamantus of his attempt to seduce her in the garden; also of his committing fornication with a pretended gentleman of his bedchamber, who being fetched, confessed herself to be a woman.
