and looking towards the west, saith in a loud voice.

Wisdom; stand upright, let us hear the holy Gospel (name.) Peace be to all.

The Choir. And with thy spirit.

The Deacon. The reading of the holy Gospel according to S. (name.)

The Choir. Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee.

The Priest. Let us attend.

The Deacon readeth the Gospel, and when he hath ended, the Priest saith to him,

Peace be to thee, who proclaimest the Gospel.

The Choir. Glory to Thee, O Lord, glory to Thee.

Then the Deacon going as far as the holy gates, giveth back the holy Gospel to the Priest, and the holy doors are closed. And the Deacon, standing in the accustomed placed beginneth thus,

Let us all say, with our whole heart, and with our whole mind,
